MOUNTING PLATES

FOR H-D COVERED

 

TOOLS REQUIRED: 3/16” Allen wrench

 

1.                   Install the windshield onto the mounting plates using the pre-assembled bolts on the mounting plates. The santoprene grommet should be inserted through the holes in the windshield so that the flat round part of the rubber grommet lays flat on both sides of the windshield. On each plate, get both tabs started before you tighten them both. (see Figure 1.1 & 1.2)

 

Note: Tabs should point in towards the headlight when installed correctly.

 

2.                   Loosen the four mounting bolts for the Fats/Slims windshield, then remove the windshield and set it aside.

 

3.                   Mount the sportshield like the Fats/Slims, and tighten down all the mounting bolts. (see Figure 2)

 

Warning: Never ride with any part of the hardware missing or loose.

CARE AND CLEANING

To clean your windshield, wash it with warm water and a mild, non-abrasive, dishwashing liquid. Use a soft cloth such as a

T-shirt or flannel cloth.

 

To protect your windshield, use NOVUS #2 to remove minor scratches, or use polish specially designed for plastic. NEVER use glass cleansing agents, they may cause severe damage to your windshield.

 

Never use any petroleum-based chemicals, or cleaning agents with ammonia.

This includes Rain-X, brake fluid, acetone and gasoline.
