TOOLS REQUIRED: 3/16” ALLEN WRENCH (PROVIDED)
6MM ALLEN WRENCH (PROVIDED)
7/16” (OR 7MM) ALLEN WRENCH
3 MM ALLEN
WRENCH (PROVIDED)
1. Loosely install the two mounting plates onto the windshield, using the bottom and third bolt up. Leave
the nylon washers off. The small tab goes at the bottom, big one at the top.
2. Install Note: Tabs point out towards the edge of the windshield if installed correctly.
3. Locate the two cast 8mm holes (not being used) in the underside of the upper triple tree. This is where the L-tab mounting brackets will go. Using the new 8MM x 12MM SS Hex head screws (provided in the bag) and washers, loosely install each of the L-tabs facing forward and flush with the front of the upper triple tree.
4. Using the 3 MM Allen Wrench remove the turnsignal bar cover. There is one small allen bolt that holds it in place on the bottom of the cover in between the forks. Once this is removed you can pull the cover off. CAREFULLY pull it straight out, there are two locator pins that help hold it in place. If you pull it off unevenly you can crack or break these pins.
5. Locate the two green mounting bolts for the turnsignal bar, remove them and gently let the tunrsignal
bar dangle briefly while you install the new brackets onto the motorcycle.
6. Locate the two 8MM
holes in the brackets, there are two side by side on both the left and the
right bracket. On the left bracket (front brake lever side) you will use the right of the two holes or
the inside hole. Repeat for the right side (clutch lever side) you will use the outside hole or the right
hole.
7. Using the new 8MM x 30MM Button head screws and washers, loosely install the brackets in the following order. Place the screw through the washer provided, then the turn signal bar first, followed by the bracket, then the aluminum spacer provided in the bag.
8. Once all the brackets are mounted tighten them down in the order they were installed, make sure
nothing is in a bind or rubbing.
9. Install the windshield onto the hardware and adjust the height and angle and tighten the windshield
hardware.
WARNING: This is a quick disconnect kit. Always tighten down all mounting bolts after removing or installing the windshield, every time.
To clean your windshield,
use only warm water and a mild non-abrasive, dishwashing liquid. Use a soft
cloth, such as a T-shirt or flannel cloth. To protect your windshield, please use
Novus #2 to remove minor scratches, or
use a polish like Memphis Shades Shinola
which is specially designed for plastic windshields; glass cleansing agents
will cause severe damage to your windshield and will void
your warranty.
Never
use any glass products, petroleum based chemicals, or cleaning agents with
ammonia, bleach or any harsh chemicals. This includes Rain-X, brake fluid,
acetone, and gasoline.
