HONDA 750 ACE/SABER SPORTSHIELD

 

TOOLS REQUIRED

(1)   Towel

(1)   6mm Allen wrench (provided)

(1)    8mm wrench

(1)    3/16” Allen wrench (provided)

 

Always cover the front fender and gas tank with a towel to avoid possible damage.

 

1.                   Using the 6mm Allen wrench provided, remove the two, original, upper triple tree pinch bolts.  Replace them with the

             L shaped upper bracket assemblies. New longer bolts with spacers are provided. (See Figure 1)

 

2.                   Using a 8mm wrench, remove the two bolts that hold the turn signal bar in place, slip the lower bracket from the kit behind the turn signal bar and re-install the bolts. The ears on the lower mounting bracket should be turned up and toward the forks. (See Figure 2)

 

3.                   Install the mounting plates on the windshield using the bolts that are pre-assembled on the mounting plates. The rubber grommets should be inserted through the holes in the windshield so that the flat round washer part of the grommet lays

             flat on each side of the windshield. On each plate, get both tabs started before you tighten either.  Mounting tabs

             should point out towards edge of windshield if installed properly.

 

4.                   Loosen the mounting bolts on the upper and lower brackets that hold the windshield plates. Slip the windshield plates

             on the mounting brackets, starting the bottom of the windshield mounting plate first.

 

WARNING: NEVER RIDE WITH ANY PART OF THE MOUNTING HARDWARE MISSING OR LOOSE

Care and Cleaning Instructions

 

To clean your windshield, use only warm water and a mild non-abrasive, dishwashing liquid. Use a soft cloth, such as a T-shirt or flannel cloth. To protect your windshield, please use Novus #2 to remove minor scratches, or use a polish like Memphis Shades Shinola which is specially designed for plastic windshields; glass cleansing agents will cause severe damage to your windshield and will void your warranty.

Never use any glass products, petroleum based chemicals, or cleaning agents with ammonia, bleach or any harsh chemicals. This includes Rain-X, brake fluid, acetone, and gasoline.
