1.
Cover the front fender with
a towel, just in case you drop something on it.
2.
Remove the headlight lens by
extracting the two Phillips head screws located on the sides of the headlight
housing. Set it aside for later
re-installation.
3.
Remove the turnsignal bar using a 5MM Allen Wrench, remove the two allen head screws located between the forks on the
underside of the bar and the third bolt located just under the headlight (use
the hole in the bottom of the headlight housing to get to the third bolt)
4.
Let the turnsignal
bar hang gently while you install the brackets.
5.
Remove the four bolts on the
front of the fork covers, there are two located on the fork covers above the
headlight, and two behind the turnsignal bar that was
just removed.
6.
Install the mounting
brackets using the original bolts. Place
one black spacer washer at the top between the bracket and the motorcycle.
7.
Re-install the turnsignal bar and headlight lens and loosen the four
mounting points on the sides of the brackets to
receive the windshield.
8. Install the mounting plates
on the windshield using the bolts that are pre-assembled on the mounting
plates. The rubber grommets should be inserted through the holes in the
windshield so that the flat round washer part of the grommet lays flat on each
side of the windshield. On each plate, get both tabs started before you tighten
either. The mounting tabs should be pointing out towards the edges of the
windshield when installed properly.
9.
Mount the windshield onto
the brackets and adjust the angle and height and tighten all mounting bolts.

To clean your windshield,
use only warm water and a mild non-abrasive, dishwashing liquid. Use a soft
cloth, such as a T-shirt or flannel cloth. To protect your windshield, please
use Novus #2 to remove minor scratches,
or use a polish like Memphis Shades Shinola
which is specially designed for plastic windshields; glass cleansing agents
will cause severe damage to your windshield and will void
your warranty.
Never use
any glass products, petroleum based chemicals, or cleaning agents with ammonia,
bleach or any harsh chemicals. This includes Rain-X, brake fluid, acetone, and
gasoline.
