(1) 17mm Wrench (1) 3/16" Allen Wrench

1.
Cover the front fender and gas tank with
towels to avoid possible damage during installation.
2.
Remove the headlight lens using a Phillips
screwdriver to remove the two small screws located in the lower part of the
headlight. Unplug the light and
carefully set it aside.
3.
Using a 8mm wrench
and a 10mm wrench, remove the headlight bucket and bracket from the lower
triple tree and set it aside. (See Fig. 1)
4.
Using a 17mm wrench, remove the handlebar
bolt nuts (located under the upper triple tree)(See Fig. 2) and slip the cable holder
off the bolts. Install the upper mounting bracket from the kit (tabs pointing
down), slip the cable holder back onto the bolts and put the nuts back on and
tighten them. Loosen the two mounting
points on the front of the upper bracket so you can install the lower brackets.
5.
Install the two inter-locking lower brackets
using the new 6MM x 40MM longer bolt assemblies provided. These mount under the headlight bracket shown
in figure 1. Slip them into the upper
bracket using the slots at the top.
6.
Re-install the headlight and lens and tighten
all mounting brackets and bolts.
7.
Install the mounting plates on the windshield using the bolts that are
pre-assembled on the mounting plates. The rubber grommets should be inserted
through the holes in the windshield so the flat round washer part of the
grommet lays flat on each side of the windshield. On each plate, get both tabs
started before you tighten either. The
mounting tabs should be pointing out towards the edges of the windshield when
installed properly. (see fig. 3)
8.
Loosen the four mounting points on the
brackets, slip the windshield mounting plates onto the brackets, adjust the
angle and tighten all mounting bolts.

To clean your windshield,
use only warm water and a mild non-abrasive, dishwashing liquid. Use a soft
cloth, such as a T-shirt or flannel cloth. To protect your windshield, please
use Novus #2 to remove minor scratches,
or use a polish like Memphis Shades Shinola
which is specially designed for plastic windshields; glass cleansing agents
will cause severe damage to your windshield and will void
your warranty.
Never use
any glass products, petroleum based chemicals, or cleaning agents with ammonia,
bleach or any harsh chemicals. This includes Rain-X, brake fluid, acetone, and
gasoline.
